Chargers hoping to re-sign Danny Woodhead
30 January 2017
The Chargers "hope" to re-sign free agent Danny Woodhead.
Woodhead missed almost all of 2016 with a torn ACL, but the San Diego Union-Tribune reported in mid-January that his recovery was "six weeks ahead of schedule." Now 32 years old and coming off significant knee surgery, Woodhead should be cheap for the Chargers to retain. Melvin Gordon established himself as a capable every-down back in 2016, so Woodhead would likely return to a reduced role.
