Tom Brady completed 21-of-29 passes for 201 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions in the Bucs' 31-9, Super Bowl LV win over the Chiefs.

07 February 2021

Whereas Brady was shaky in the NFC Championship Game, he was lights out as he cruised to his record-shattering seventh Super Bowl victory. Brady avoided mistakes and warmed up his connection with Rob Gronkowski as the Bucs' pass rush absolutely battered Patrick Mahomes behind the Chiefs' undermanned offensive line. Doing things no American athlete has ever done, 43-year-old Brady had his first 40-score campaign since 2007 during the regular season. His 4,633 yards were his most since 2015, and the third most in football behind Deshaun Watson and Mahomes. Although we have been watching Brady?s arm strength decline for several years in real time, he remains amongst the best at picking his spots, with Pro Football Focus charting him with a 108.4 QB rating on attempts 20-plus yards down the field. Brady emphatically proved that last year?s struggles in New England were about his supporting cast and not his physical abilities. With Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski all free agents, Brady?s 2021 skill corps is uncertain, but Mike Evans is the kind of building block he had lacked for years in New England. The old man will once again be a QB1 in 2021.
