The New York Daily News' Pat Leonard reports Kadarius Toney's ankle injury could be "more serious than a simple sprain."

Toney was in obvious pain on the sideline last week after aggravating the right ankle injury he picked up in Week 5 against Dallas. He left the Giants' Week 6 loss in the first quarter and did not return. Leonard said Toney would likely be out for Week 7 against Carolina, along with Kenny Golladay (knee). Sterling Shepard last week resumed his duties as a target vacuum with Toney sidelined, catching 10 of 14 targets for 76 yards against the Rams. He would be a weekly candidate for double digit targets for as long as Toney is out.
