NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports free agent WR Gabe Davis was released with a failed physical designation.

Davis’ release was announced yesterday, but the failed physical aspect is, unfortunately, news. Davis suffered a season-ending meniscus injury in Week 11 and later underwent surgery to correct the issue. The reason for the failed physical has not yet been released, but it stands to reason that it is connected to the knee issue. Davis will ideally progress through his rehab program in time to sign with a new team before training camp begins. This could complicate things, though.
