Colts coach Shane Steichen confirmed Anthony Richardson has been diagnosed with a dislocated right (throwing) pinky finger and has an uncertain return timeline.

“Don’t know how long he’ll be out,” was Steichen’s exact quote to the team’s sideline reporter. Richardson’s throwing pinky was bent the wrong way after he never felt the blitz on a blown pass-blocking assignment. The timing couldn’t be worse, as even a 1-2 week absence could be enough to officially take Richardson out of the running for the Colts’ Week 1 starting job. Even before Richardson’s injury, Daniel Jones had remained the favorite despite increased Richardson hype of late.
