Chiefs placed Tyquan Thornton (concussion) on injured reserve.

24 December 2025

Thornton was a long-shot to make the Chiefs’ 53-man roster at the start of the offseason. He impressed the team during the summer and made the roster as a deep-ball specialist. With multiple Kansas City wideouts missing time over the first two months of the season, Thornton was heavily involved in the offense early in the year. He caught 13 passes for 272 yards and three scores over the first five games of the season. That pace would have seen him clear 900 yards, but the Chiefs eventually got Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy back. Once that happened, Thornton’s role all but vanished. He closed the year with 19 grabs for 438 and three scores. Thornton also pitched in on special teams. He will hit free agency in the spring. Though Thornton isn’t likely to make much of an impact on the fantasy landscape in 2026, he has done an impressive job carving out a role in Kansas City after his career fizzled out in New England. He won’t have any issues finding work next year.
