Commanders released CB Marshon Lattimore.

02 March 2026

ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report the story. Lattimore, who was acquired from the Saints at the 2024 trade deadline, was due $18.5 million for next season but was never expected to be on the team. The veteran corner struggled to live up to expectations after being traded to the Commanders in 2024, and underwhelmed again in 2025 before a torn ACL ended his season in Week 9. The money Lattimore was due will now turn into $18.5 million in additional cap space for the Commanders, who are among the teams with the most cap available heading into free agency. Lattimore, 29, should still have a decent market this offseason, but he’ll likely need to sign on a one-year prove-it deal at this point in his career.
