It will keep him around in 2026 and, as with James Conner’s re-working, is almost certainly a salary cut after he missed the entire 2025 season with an undisclosed injury. We’re a little surprised this was a priority for Arizona as Murphy-Bunting has not been an appreciably good player since his 2022 walk season with the Buccaneers, but the Cardinals have better information on his injury than we do.
