Patrick Mahomes completed 26-of-49 passes for 270 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions in the Chiefs' 31-9, Super Bowl LV loss to the Bucs.

07 February 2021

The double-digit loss was 25-year-old Mahomes' first as a pro. Stunning. It wasn't stunning if you watched the game, as toe-hobbled Mahomes simply had no prayer behind an offensive line missing both its starting tackles. Even as it was open season, Mahomes nearly converted several jaw-dropping throws only to see his receivers drop them. It was just that kind of night for the Chiefs. North America?s highest-paid athlete, Mahomes coasted to another monster campaign this season, placing second in passing yards (4,740) and fourth in touchdowns (38) despite sitting out Week 17. He tossed only six interceptions ? giving him 11 across his past 29 regular season starts ? while completing a career-high 66.3 percent of his passes. Gifted at knowing when to scramble for a first down, Mahomes was essentially indefensible. With Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce both locked in for 2021, Mahomes will remain the overwhelming favorite to finish as fantasy?s QB1.
