Vikings had been promoting Ameer Abdullah from the practice squad every week as insurance on special teams but finally cut ties with the 28-year-old altogether to make room for Nwangwu. The rookie had very little production at Iowa State but does offer enticing 4.31 40-speed as a receiving threat from the backfield. He could become fantasy relevant if Alexander Mattison gets banged up.
