Bryce Young (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

It’s a surprising development for the rookie quarterback. He played on Monday and was on the field for Carolina’s final snap on offense, so there was no indication of an injury when the final whistle blew. He did, however, cede a short-yardage snap to backup quarterback Andy Dalton. Young left the field for Dalton on another snap but the play was eventually nixed by a pre-snap penalty in favor of a punt. If Young can’t suit up for Week 3, Dalton will draw the start against the Seahawks. All Panthers will be easy fades in a road game with a backup quarterback under center.
